Forever Home Canine Rescue is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, all-volunteer supported rescue for unwanted and homeless dogs. Small breed dogs are our specialty, but we do on occasion rescue other sizes of dogs. We do not have a shelter, and operate solely out of a network of foster homes. Our mission is to find loving "forever" homes for the deserving dogs in our care, and to provide education regarding responsible pet ownership.
Forever Home Canine Rescue’s base is in Iredell, Catawba, and surrounding counties of North Carolina. We rescue dogs from unfortunate situations such as abandoned, neglected, or surrendered by their owners...many who find themselves homeless at County Animal Control Shelters. Through the use of our Foster Home Program we can then place them in their forever home.
Guardian Angel Program
Guided by the principle that every life is precious, Forever Home Canine Rescue is dedicated to finding loving and responsible ‘forever’ homes for all the pets in our care. This includes getting the medical care and treatment for many pets who are sick or injured. Our “Special Needs” Pets suffer from an array of acute or chronic, yet treatable health conditions. The Guardian Angel Fund for our “Special Needs” pets is supported by donations from the community. Please consider making a donation via secure transaction and help save a life today! Anything you are able to give will go far in improving the lives of the dogs in our area.
Dogs with special needs often require additional medicine or rehabilitation time at FHCR. Your gift to our Guardian Angel Fund will help these special pets regain their health so they can then be adopted into their ‘forever’ homes!

Adoptable Pets
Paris

Paris is a cute 9-lb. Chihuahua who is looking for a "forever" home. She loves people and children, and is a total lap-dog. She gets along with other animals, but is a little bossy when eating. Paris needs a securely fenced yard, or somebody who will walk her on a leash. She is crate trained, and is working on her housetraining. Could this little one be the perfect addition to your home and family?

Guardian Angel Pets
Maya
Maya was found abandoned by the side of the road... a tangled, matted mess, swollen from being hit, possibly by a car... and heartworm positive...
Many of the dogs we rescue... either as strays, or from Animal Control Shelters... often have medical conditions that are costly to treat. We never turn these pets away once they are in our program... but we must rely on the compassion and generosity of our “Guardian Angels” to help these dogs obtain their needed veterinary care.
Now more than ever, we need you so we can continue to help those who need us most!

Doggie Makeovers
Maggie
Wonderful dogs are euthanized everyday at Animal Control Shelters all across our country. You can really save a life by checking out the shelters and adopting a shelter dog, or one from another local rescue.
If you do visit a shelter and see a dirty, thin, matted and frightened little pup, please try to imagine him or her all cleaned up and groomed.
Dogs at shelters often don't look like much (even purebred ones)... but given a good grooming, veterinary care, and some TLC, they make wonderful (and beautiful) lifetime canine companions. And you will be truly saving a life!

Happy Tails
Sophia

Dianna of Statesville, NC - "I just wanted to send you a picture of Sophia. As I was putting my daughter to bed and tucking her in, Sophia jumped up in the bed with her and laid down beside her. She put her head on the pillow, got under the covers and just laid there. I got a picture... it was sooooooooooooo precious! We just love Sophia to pieces, she is doing so well."
Thank you so very much to the Easter family for giving little Sophia a wonderful 'forever' home. She has come a long way from being a pound puppy... rescued from Animal Control... to now being a beloved member of a family!
